It was held today at the Tower of Lloyd, the signing by the Port Authority of Trieste and the SIOT for granting state maritime fifty of Marine Terminal located in the Free Port Oils Minerals Port of Trieste.
SIOT - Italian Society for the Transalpine pipeline Spa - part of the TAL Group, is established in Trieste since 1964 and supplies power for half a century the countries of Central Europe. The economies of Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic are closely dependent on the performance of the TAL Group, without which they could not be sure the supply of fuel for the industry and the population.
The concession will last 50 years, covering a total area of 48,519 square meters, will allow the SIOT to confirm its strategic role of first oil terminal in the Mediterranean. With a turnover of 82.3 million euro in 2014 and a workforce that direct employees and led over 600 people, the Group TAL guarantees in Trieste an annual traffic of over 40 million tons of crude oil (equivalent to a present value market of 20 billion euro), 6.7 million euro of port taxes, with a further EUR 6 million for further technical-nautical services. Also significant is the turnover of tugs arising from services rendered to the Company, which amounts to approximately 11 million euro a year.
