Volumes of jet fuel arriving on tankers to Europe over March are so far tallied at 1.97 million tons (15.5 million bbl) on 32 ships, as of March 18, according to the OPIS Tanker Tracker.
Inbound volumes for April are estimated at 1.1 million tons on 18 tankers. This is likely to rise as more vessels are identified exporting jet fuel that will be arriving in Europe over that month.
Four shipments of jet fuel (230,000 tons) loaded from the West Indian coastal ports of Sikka, near the Jamnagar refinery, or Mangalore, is scheduled to arrive in Europe during April.
There are also four shipments (265,000 tons) being exported from Saudi Arabian ports tracked arriving between April 1 and April 30.
Shell was identified as the charterer of three shipments of jet fuel (160,000 tons) that were exported from Kuwait, and will arrive in the 28 member states of Europe next month, based on information compiled from traders, brokers and vessel-tracking data.
There are nine Saudi cargoes tracked arriving this month (505,000 tons) including four on smaller-size Medium Range tankers, with cargoes of 35,000 tons or less. Normally, Saudi shipments from Jubail or Yanbu are seen being larger in size, typically from 60,000-90,000 tons each.
Output from the Ruwais refinery in the United Arab Emirates -- that was exported to Europe and discharged this month -- comprises an estimated total of six 90,000-ton cargoes, tracker data shows.
Only one shipment of this size is seen reaching Europe from Ruwais within April; if there any others, they haven't been identified yet.
