Another Far East/Indian diesel or gasoil cargo is identified being shipped to Europe via the longer route, around the Cape of Good Hope, instead of through the Suez Canal, the conventional way these exports usually take.
The Long Range 2 tanker, Minerva Pisces, is said to have 80,000 tons of ultra-low-sulfur diesel aboard that was loaded at the West Indian coastal port of Sikka, around March 5.
The vessel is now sailing south along Africa's eastern coastline and signaling it will arrive in Rotterdam in three weeks, further pointing to the Cape transit.
Nearly half a million tons of jet fuel or diesel on 11 Europe-bound tankers is now tracked taking the longer voyage around the Cape so far in 2016, according to the OPIS Tanker Tracker.
